Scope of Condenser Re-Tube Works
Our company performs condenser re-tubing operations in thermal power plants according to international standards with the following steps:
1. Removal of Existing Tubes
- All corroded, cracked, or low heat-transfer tubes are removed using precision methods.
- During removal, tube sheets, support plates, and cassette structures are inspected.
2. Condenser Surface Cleaning and Inspection
- Mechanical and chemical cleaning of tube sheet holes
- Tube sheet crack tests (NDT: PT, MT, UT, or Eddy Current)
- Surface roughness and deformation checks
3. Selection and Preparation of New Tubes
Depending on the project, high-durability tubes such as:
- Titanium, Admiralty Brass, Cu-Ni 90/10 – 70/30, SS316L
are selected. - Tube dimensions are prepared according to ASME and TEMA standards.
- Pre-production and post-production quality control tests are conducted.
4. Tube Installation and Rolling/Sealing Process
- Tubes are inserted into tube sheet holes with precise tolerances.
- Expanded using hydraulic or mechanical rolling methods.
- TIG welding is applied where additional sealing is required.
- After installation, hydrotesting is performed to verify pressure integrity.
5. Final Inspections and Commissioning
- Condenser vacuum test
- Heat transfer performance measurement
- Full system operational efficiency testing
- Reporting and project handover
